Welcome Bird
Watchers!
Hundreds of thousands of
people across the county attract birds to their
backyards by putting out a feeder or two filled with
bird seed.
Many also
take extra steps to provide water, shelter, and other
attractants for birds.
Birds are fun to watch.
You can bird watch in your yard, at a park, or on a
birding vacation. If you keep your eyes and ears
open, you will find that birds are just about
everywhere.
The
goal of this website is to provide helpful information
for those who enjoy birds. We also hope to help
you learn how to improve habitat and provide a healthy
environment for the birds.
You
will find links to products of interest to birders
throughout the website, including books and periodicals,
bird feeders, bird houses, baths, and gifts for birders.

Winter
Bird Feeding
The cold months of winter are an
important time to provide food for our feathered
friends. Birds need energy to survive in the cold,
and natural food supplies may be covered in snow and
ice. Think about providing fatty foods, that
provide quick energy, such as suet and peanut butter.
Providing a year-round water supply is
also benefitial, as it can be difficult for birds to
find water that is not frozen in the winter time.
